Upper ’78 class donates bench, trees

Proof that 1978 was a very good year? Ask any member of the Upper Sandusky High School class of ’78, whose unofficial class motto is “’78 — Super Great.” And, in celebration of its 40th graduation anniversary, class members came together to donate more than $2,000 toward a memorial bench and trees for Upper Sandusky City parks.

United Church Homes partners with Ohio’s Hospice

MARION — United Church Homes and Ohio’s Hospice are teaming up to form a new not-for-profit joint venture Medicare-certified hospice program. United Church Homes residents needing hospice and palliative care soon can receive services provided by Ohio’s Hospice at United Church Homes while remaining in the comfort of their community.

Upcoming Crawford Park District events announced

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park District has announced upcoming events. Just Hike It is 10 a.m. Saturday at Heckert Nature Preserve, 1601 Ohio 19, west of Ohio 602. There are many benefits to getting outside and taking a hike, such as lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, to increasing happiness levels and curbing depression.

100 books donated to Mohawk Community Library

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Community Library has received a gift of 100 new children’s books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers. These books were a donation from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City interested in fostering early reading, a love of books and encouraging parents and children to read together.
