HEAP provides assistance with heating costs

FINDLAY — The Hancock Hardin Wyandot Putnam Community Action Commission’s HEAP 2019 Winter Crisis Program began Nov. 1 and continues through March 31 — as long as funds remain available. This program was created to provide financial assistance, one time per heating season, to income eligible households who are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have service already disconnected, need to establish new service, seek to transfer service or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.

Humane Society: January 23, 2019

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a male gray tiger cat with green eyes, a gray cat and a black and white cat, a black and tan male shepherd, a white and brown female boxer mix and a brown and white neutered male pit-boxer mix.

Fairhaven uses grant for transportation

A $2,000 grant from the Wyandot County Community Foundation will help Fairhaven Community with transportation services for residents. Fairhaven currently has a 16-passenger bus and wheelchair-accessible van used to take residents to medical appointments and on activities and trips that help them stay actively engaged in the community.

Opioid addiction help available in region

TIFFIN — Through a federal grant obtained in partnership with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties is able to provide and offer assistance to individuals struggling with opioid-use disorder, regardless of income level and payer source.
