Jen and Bob Payne, of Upper Sandusky, are the parents of a girl. Penelope A. Payne was born at 7:43 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019, at Marion General Hospital, Marion. She was 18.75 inches long and weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces. The grandparents are Richard and Carol Swinehart and Larry and Tammy Sheets.

Living with Diabetes event March 12

FINDLAY — Blanchard Valley Health System will host “Healthy Living with Diabetes,” part of the “Live and Learn” series, to educate the community about methods of coping with diabetes that promote healthy lifestyles from 12-1 p.m. March 12 in the Marathon Auditorium of Blanchard Valley Hospital and led by Thomas Grace, M.D., from the Blanchard Valley Diabetes Center, a division of BVHS.

Carey library having book sale

CAREY — The Dorcas Carey Public Library is having a small ongoing book sale until the end of April. Books are 25 cents each or a bag full for a $1. The books will be located on a table at the side entranceway of the library along with a few shelves in the adult department.

Private school scholarships now available

SYLVANIA — The Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund is accepting applications for the 2019-20 school year for need-based scholarships for grades kindergarten through eighth grade worth up to $1,500 for children to use at a nonpublic school or $500 for homeschool expenses.
