Master gardeners seminar is March 21

KENTON — Hardin County’s OSU Extension office will host a master gardeners seminar “Sustaining Our World” at 9:30 a.m. March 21 at the Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative Community Room, 1210 W. Lima St., Kenton. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m.

Legislative fellowship program deadline is April 1

COLUMBUS — State Sen. Dave Burke (R-Marysville) announced that the Ohio Legislative Service Commission is accepting applications through April 1 for the 2020 Legislative and Telecommunications Fellowship Program. The Commission will hire 24 fellows to serve in the Ohio General Assembly for the 2020 calendar year.

Passport to Fishing instructor certification course March 20

FINDLAY — Any adult, group or conservation club who has an interest in taking kids fishing should consider becoming a certified Passport to Fishing instructor, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. A certification course is being offered March 20 at the ODNR Division of Wildlife District Two Office, located at 952 Lima Ave., Findlay.

SYCAMORE — The February meeting of the Mohawk Lioness Club was enjoyed by 27 members, of which two were newly installed members; Maria Riedel and Victoria Everhart. Patty Moorman, Lions Club Zone 5 chairman enlightened the club about things that are going on in zone 5. Thirty “goodie baskets” were prepared for delivery to persons in the community that needed some comfort and cheer.

The Ohio Clerk of Courts Association sponsored an event for all members of the state legislature and all State of Ohio elected officials at the office of Roetzel & Andress in Columbus last week. The purpose of the event is for the Clerks of Court from all 88 counties to meet with their legislative representatives and discuss issues pertaining to their offices and home counties.
