The Upper Sandusky Lions Club installed two Ohio Historical Markers ahead of the Wednesday dedication — one at the Wyandot County Courthouse and the other at the old Stephan Lumber building. The public is invited to join in on the celebration, starting at 1 p.m. at the courthouse.

Micro business program to begin May 31

MARION — Recruitment is underway to enroll participants in the next Micro Business Development Program offered by the HHWP Community Action Commission. The program consists of 13 sessions held from 5:45-8:45 p.m. on Thursdays beginning May 31 at the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, 123 E. Main Cross St., Findlay. The final session will be Aug. 23.

Fifth and sixth graders from St. Peter School participate in archery class thanks to a grant last year from the National Archery in the Schools Program and a donation from the Wyandot Wildlife Conservation Club.

Meeting minutes: May 17, 2018

CAREY — The May Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council No. 86 meeting was held recently at Art Connections and Willow Craft Gallery in Carey. The meeting was hosted by officers Barb Grasz, Joan Kincade, Tammy Wagner, Rosemary Smalley, Susie Brodman, Teresa M. Brodman and Teresa A. Brodman. Over 60 members were in attendance.

Siler, Lockwood engaged

DAVENPORT, Fla. — Brianna Siler and Orion Lockwood, of Davenport, Florida, have announced their engagement. Siler is a daughter of Tammy Siler, of Sycamore, and a graduate of Bridges Community Academy in 2011 and Eastern Michigan University in 2015. She is a Magic Kingdom full-time statused coordinator at Walt Disney World Resorts, Orlando, Florida.

OLC focusing on consolation

CAREY — This year at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, Carey, the Franciscan Friars we will be focusing on the theme of “consolation” at the Shrine. “Consolation” can and will take on many forms. Ultimately, God is the source of all consolation.

Free cooking program offered

A series of one-hour long programs is being offered by the SNAP-Ed program assistant from the Wyandot County Ohio State University Extension service. Tami Baumberger once again will conduct a series of Cooking with Tami sessions at the Open Door Resources Center in Upper Sandusky.
