BUCYRUS — Wynford Local School district will be conducting kindergarten screening April 25 and 26 at the elementary building. Children who will be five years old on or before Aug. 1 are required by law to register and be screened. The screening process includes assessments in the following areas: vision, hearing, speech/language and general academic readiness skills.

TIFFIN — The Harmony Community Easter Cantata Choir will give its annual musical presentations at 7:30 p.m. April 12 and on Palm Sunday, April 14. This year’s Cantata is entitled “Finished-Today Hope Is Alive.”

BUCYRUS — Vote for the final winners of Book March Madness at Bucyrus Public Library by Friday. There are four categories of brackets including picture books, chapter books, young adult books and adult books.

CAREY — The Dorcas Carey Public Library will be hosting an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday for birth through preschool. Another egg hunt will take place later that afternoon at 3:30 p.m. for grades Kindergarten through fifth grade.

FOREST — The McVitty Post 1182 and the American Legion Post 259, of Forest, will hold the next monthly fish fry from 5-7 p.m., April 19 at the Post, 204 E. Lima St., Forest. Meals are all-you-can-eat. Tickets may be purchased at the door for a $9 donation. Carry-out is also available.

Upper Sandusky Middle School Band and Choir members competed at the Ohio Music Association Solo and Ensemble April 6 at Willard. Results of the day were recently released.

Eighth grade students from Our Lady of Consolation in Carey went on a trip to Washington, D.C. last Wednesday, the trip culminated with a visit to Gettysburg on Saturday before returning home.

Bridget Raymond and Zachary Simeon, of Upper Sandusky, are the parents of a son. Abram Joseph Simeon was born at 11:33 p.m., March 13, 2019, at Wyandot Memorial Hosptial, Upper Sandusky. He was 20 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces.

Monica and Travis Baird, of Sycamore, are the parents of a son. Asher Michael Baird was born at 4:50 p.m., March 18, 2019, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. He was 21 inches long and weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces. The maternal grandparents are Michael and Tammy Hoy, of Marseilles. The paternal grandparents are Kenny and Angie Pryor, of Sycamore.
