Barking Lot Party is Thursday in Tiffin

TIFFIN — Barking Lot Party, the May Third Thursday event, is 5-8 p.m. May 16, with events planned in the Croghan Bank and Laird Arcade parking lots and almost 30 businesses offering specials. Participants can register for door prizes at participating businesses. The event is free and family- and pet-friendly.

Harpster’s 104th alumni banquet held

HARPSTER — The 104th Harpster High School Alumni Banquet was held April 27, in the Upper Sandusky High School cafeteria. Sue Rothermel opened with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the “Star Spangled Banner” sung by Pippa Rothermel and then the Welcome and Invocation. Special Occasions Catering served the chicken breast with cream sauce dinner to 55 members and guests.

Sprouting Hope children’s grief support event Thursday

FINDLAY — Bridge Home Health & Hospice, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System, is offering a “Sprouting Hope” grief support program that allows children ages 6 to 12 to come together with their peers and participate in activities that will help them express their feelings, create lasting memories of their loved ones and have fun.

Bucyrus Patrol Post joins Light Ohio Blue campaign

BUCYRUS — The Ohio State Highway Patrol Bucyrus Post has joined the Light Ohio Blue campaign to show and generate support for law enforcement personnel who protect our communities throughout our great state. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. The Light Ohio Blue campaign coincides with activities associated to Police Week. This year’s dates are Wednesday, May 8 to Thursday, May 16.

MARION — On Saturday, hundreds of Marion Technical College students will walk across the Marion Palace Theatre stage at 10 a.m. to collect their diplomas. More than 300 associate degrees are being awarded to students. This is one of the largest graduating class in the last five years.
