Marseilles alumni to meet Saturday for annual banquet

MARSEILLES — Plans are being made for the 71st Marseilles alumni banquet. It will be held Saturday at the Marseilles Fireshouse. Note the event is being held on the third Saturday of the month. A social hour will be held from 5-6 p.m. and a catered dinner will be served at 6 p.m. by Shari Dunn of Special Occasions.

Ohio PTA receives grant

COLUMBUS — National PTA has awarded Ohio PTA with a two-year grant to educate parents on school report cards and empower them to advocate to ensure this data is accessible, transparent and actionable. Ohio PTA is one of only five state PTAs nationwide selected to receive a grant.

Book March Madness winners announced for Bucyrus library

BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Public Library recently announced the final winners of Book March Madness 2019 at Bucyrus Public Library. Winners are “The Farmer’s Away!” (grades K-2), “Charlotte’s Web” (grades 3-5), the “Harry Potter” series (young adult) and “To Kill a Mockingbird” (adult).

Bucyrus library joins consortium

BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Public Library is joining the Consortium of Ohio Libraries in May 2019. BPL joins the 12 other libraries currently part of COOL. Patrons will now have access to a mobile app and text message notifications.

Humane Society: May 14, 2019

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a yellow and white neutered male cat, a black dog with a curly tail, a neutered male bengal cat, a black neutered male cat, a black and white male husky, a white female boxer and a brown female boxer.

Harpster HS alumni host annual alumni banquet

60-year reunion

HARPSTER — The 104th Harpster High School Alumni Banquet was held April 27, in the Upper Sandusky High School cafeteria. Sue Rothermel opened with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the “Star Spangled Banner” sung by Pippa Rothermel and then the Welcome and Invocation. Special Occasions Catering served the chicken breast with cream sauce dinner to 55 members and guests.

Hardin Co Relay for Life to meet May 15

KENTON — On July 19, many participants will join together at the annual Relay For Life of Hardin County at the Kenton Courthouse square to help the American Cancer Society attack cancer from every angle. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will last until midnight.
