Former OSU player to speak at men’s breakfast A former Ohio State football player and nationally known speaker will speak at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church’s men’s breakfast at 7 a.m. June 12 at the Bucyrus Community Hospital cafeteria. Joel Penton, a graduate of the Ohio State University who played five years of football for the Buckeyes, and who now serves as executive director for “Stand for Truth,” will speak about the program, which takes the Gospel to America’s public schools and has reached 1,000 communities and 1,000,000 students in the last 10 Years. USHS grads celebrate 75th class reunion The Upper Sandusky High School Class of 1944 celebrated its 75th anniversary with a luncheon May 18 at The Village Restaurant in Upper Sandusky. There were 78 members in the class and around 10 are still living. Five were at the meeting including Betty Kimble Corbin, Betty Stansbery Hackworth, Martha Gabriel Bennett, Marilyn Courtad Spitler and Mary Boes Orians. Also attending were guests Barbara Fite (Corbin’s daughter), Mary K. Bower (widow of Glenn Bower) and daughter Cindy Newman, Kathy Wexler (Orian’s daughter) and Randy Roys (Bennett’s son-in-law).
