BOWLING GREEN — The College of Business at Bowling Green State University is proud to announce that Jenna Barto has been chosen to serve as a peer leader for the upcoming summer and academic year. Barto is a 2018 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School.

Hardin’s Girl’s Group activities announced

HARDIN COUNTY — Any young lady in fourth through eighth grade is invited to OSU Extension: Hardin’s Girl’s Group summer activities. Girl’s Group brings together both public school and homeschooled young ladies to work on strengthening friendships and developing overall confidence, positive self-image and self-esteem, and leadership skills through a variety of hands-on education and activities.

USCL hosting sidewalk art extravaganza Friday

Unleash an inner artist and decorate the sidewalks around the Upper Sandusky Community Library with chalk and more from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. All supplies will be provided. Stop by throughout the day to see the creativity of the community and join in the fun.

Living with Diabetes is June 19, 20

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and their support persons from 5:30-8:30 p.m. June 19 and 20 in the conference room on the hospital’s lower level. Living with Diabetes is a multi-disciplinary approach to disease management, which includes sessions with a nurse, exercise physiologist, dietitian and pharmacist. The course helps participants improve self-management of blood sugars through education, diet, exercise and medication.

Former OSU player Penton to be featured speaker at men’s breakfast

BUCYRUS — A former Ohio State football player and nationally known speaker will speak at to Woodlawn United Methodist Church’s men’s breakfast at 7 a.m. June 12 at the Bucyrus Community Hospital cafeteria. Joel Penton, a graduate of the Ohio State University who played five years of football for the Buckeyes, and who now serves as executive director for “Stand for Truth,” will speak about the program, which takes the Gospel to America’s public schools and has reached 1,000 communities and 1,000,000 students in the last 10 Years.

Children at the Dorcas Carey Public Library were entertained by Mr. Pickles Tuesday morning. Mr. Pickles is a family entertainer who provides educational theater to schools and libraries.
