Carey marching band to perform Monday

CAREY — Celebrate school spirit with the Dorcas Carey Public Library with the upcoming Pride of Carey Blue Devil Marching Band performance at 6:30 p.m. June 10 on the library lawn. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy light refreshments while listening to the best of Carey’s young musicians.

Forest library hosting Slimetime program Monday

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library is holding its annual “Slimetime” program at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gormley Park in Forest. Children that wish to participate should wear old clothes and shoes as they may get very messy. Call the library with questions 419-273-2400.

USCL hosting sidewalk chalk art extravaganza today

Unleash an inner artist and decorate the sidewalks around the Upper Sandusky Community Library with chalk and more from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. All supplies including chalk and stencils will be provided. Stop by throughout the day to see the creativity of the community and join in the fun.

Crawford Parks district announces events

CRESTLINE — The Crawford Parks District recently announced upcoming events. Recycling is 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598 hosted by the Colonel Crawford Lions Club and The Friends of the Crawford Park District. There will be a Recycle Day the second Saturday of each month throughout the year accepting cardboard, clear/brown/green/blue glass (separate by color), No.1 (PETE) plastics, No. 2 (HDPE) plastics (colors do not have to be separated), newspaper/magazines/ office paper/junk mail, steel cans, aluminum cans, household batteries, eyeglasses and CFL lightbulbs (from households only), laptops, tablets and cell phones. Any recyclables taken to the Crawford Park District, outside of the second Saturday of every month do not get credited to the Park District.

Popcorn Festival hosting pagent informational meeting

MARION — The 2019 Marion Popcorn Festival All-Pageant Informational Meeting is 2-4 p.m. June 15 at Bluefusion Entertainment, 1340 Mount Vernon Ave., Marion. This informational meeting will include all pageants: Miss, Ms., Teen, Teeny Pop, Wee Pop and Little Wee Pop. If you have any questions regarding any of the pageants, this meeting will provide that opportunity. The festival offers pageants for all age groups which will be held the first weekend of August at River Valley High School.
