The USHS Class of 1954 recently held its 65th anniversary celebration of graduating from Upper Sandusky High School. The classmates dined at the Village Inn and had quite a showing for a class.

Wyandot County students named to Dean’s List at Ohio Northern University The following students from Wyandot County were named to the Dean’s List for spring semester 2018-19 at Ohio Northern University.

FOREST — The Forest-Jackson Public Library is holding a pool and pizza party at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Mount Blanchard pool. The pool opens at 11:45 a.m. and a pizza lunch will be served at 12:45 p.m.

All ages are invited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing at the Upper Sandusky Community Library at 6 p.m. Friday. Special guest speakers K.K. Solacoff M.D. and Wyandot County Museum curator Ronald Marvin Jr. will speak about Neil Armstrong’s connection to the community and Ohio’s contributions to the space program. Artifacts and memorabilia will be on display.

The Upper Sandusky High School Alumni Association made a donation in March to the USHS music department. Jerry Taylor and Deanna Piecha, of the USHS Alumni Association, presented band director and teacher Jason Morris with a donation to the USHS band.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Historical Society will present a big screen tribute, at 7 p.m. Thursday in its South Hall, 125 S. Sycamore Ave. An extensive collection of American Legion Post No. 250 photographs will be shown. Lots of individual pictures, some here and many no longer with us will be shown. Also shown will be the “best of” Howard Mick’s 1960s photographic collection featuring hundreds of local residents.

COLUMBUS — People don’t have to be wealthy or have an advanced degree to open a home to children in need. They just need “100 percent heart.” That’s the message of a new foster care and adoption website and public awareness campaign launched recently by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, which oversees the state’s child protective services programs.

TIFFIN — The Seneca County Fair will play host to gospel music performers from noon to 5 p.m. July 28 in the new entertainment building at 100 Hopewell Ave., in Tiffin. The event is sponsored by TGMA Gospel Music Promotions and will feature performances from One Voice, Ed Ewing, Leroy Driscoll, Wayne Suter, HeartSong, Cornerstone, The Seekers, Chris Baldwin, 441 Quartet, Bobby Jones Family, New Presence and Gary Herron.
