Johnson, Grooms exchange vows

ATHENS — Adrienne Johnson and Dustin Grooms, of Athens, were married July 6, 2019, at an 11:30 a.m. ceremony officiated by Nates Kojun Hayes at The Dairy Barn in Athens. The bride was accompanied by Maid of Honor Lindsay Radomski and by junior bridesmaid and niece of the groom, Chloe Bellomo.

USCL hosting back-to-school coloring contest

Children in preschool through fifth grade are welcome to join the Upper Sandusky Community Library’s annual coloring contest. Stop by the library to pick up a coloring page with the theme “draw your favorite scene from a book” and return the completed coloring page to the library by July 26 to receive a participation prize. One grand prize winner from each grade will be announced during a back-to-school kick-off party at 5:30 p.m. July 31. Grand prize winners will receive a fully-stocked backpack provided by Edward Jones financial advisor Tristan Joy and the Wyandot County Young Professionals.

The 2019 Ohio State Fair opens Wednesday

COLUMBUS — The 166th Ohio State Fair will begin Wednesday. Gates will open at 9 a.m., at which time the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting will take place at the Cardinal Gate. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, and Ohio Expo Center and State Fair General Manager Virgil Strickler, will participate in the ceremony and make opening remarks.

NCOESC offering active assailant training

TIFFIN — The North Central Academy, through an Ohio School Safety grant, is hosting Operation Street Smart and active assailant training from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 2 at the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, Tiffin Campus, 928 W. Market St., Tiffin.

Hardin Co Relay for Life event is today

KENTON — Participants unite for the annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Hardin County to celebrate people who have been touched by cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change. Join Relay for Life for Christmas in July. The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event to save lives from cancer.

Moon landing party is at USCL tonight

All ages are invited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing at the Upper Sandusky Community Library at 6 p.m. today. Special guest speakers K.K. Solacoff M.D. and Wyandot County Museum curator Ronald Marvin Jr. will speak about Neil Armstrong’s connection to the community and Ohio’s contributions to the space program. Artifacts and memorabilia will be on display.
