Crawford Park commissioner retiring

BUCYRUS — After 24 years as a Crawford Park District commissioner, Rich Carpenter has decided to hang up his hat. His dedication to the Crawford Park District has made an enormous impact on the quality of life in Crawford County. In the early 1990s, Carpenter was approached by a group of children looking for a place to collect leaves for a school project.

District holding other upcoming events

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Park district has announced upcoming events. Toddler Trot: Winter Trek is 10 a.m. Saturday at Lowe-Volk Park, 2401 Ohio 598, 3 miles north of U.S. 30. Nature play is the best play. Join Josh Dyer and McKinley from the Crawford Park District for a stroll through the woods, climbing logs and flipping rocks.

Campus notes: January 24, 2019

CIRCLEVILLE — Joshua Schilling, of Harpster, a student taking College Credit Plus courses through Ohio Christian University’s Trailblazer Academy, has been named to the dean’s list. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must have a 3.5 GPA or better and be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours.

Meeting minutes: January 24, 2019

The Jan. 9 meeting of the Wyandot County PERI Chapter No. 88 was called to order by President Ruth Reier in the Wyandot Memorial Hospital Bowen-Kirkland room. There were 16 members and one guest present. Reier led the Lord’s Prayer and The Pledge of Allegiance.

HEAP provides assistance with heating costs

FINDLAY — The Hancock Hardin Wyandot Putnam Community Action Commission’s HEAP 2019 Winter Crisis Program began Nov. 1 and continues through March 31 — as long as funds remain available. This program was created to provide financial assistance, one time per heating season, to income eligible households who are threatened with disconnection of their heating source, have service already disconnected, need to establish new service, seek to transfer service or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel.

Humane Society: January 23, 2019

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a male gray tiger cat with green eyes, a gray cat and a black and white cat, a black and tan male shepherd, a white and brown female boxer mix and a brown and white neutered male pit-boxer mix.
