Chicken BBQ dinner Sunday in McCutchenville

McCUTCHENVILLE — Trinity United Church of Christ is hosting its chicken barbecue dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in McCutchenville. The menu includes 1⁄2 chicken plus a choice of two sides (homemade potato salad, baked beans or applesauce), rolls, butter and drinks.

Elgin High School to host alumni banquet

LARUE — The Sixth Annual Elgin Alumni Banquet is June 29, in the cafetorium of the Elgin K-12 building. This year’s gathering will be a luau. The evening will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.m. The menu will feature pulled pork, a baked potato, cole slaw and dessert.

Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a black neutered male cat with a white patch on its chest, a black neutered male shih tzu, an orange neutered male cat, and a large grey tiger neutered male cat.

Carey library announces events for June

Find the Aliens is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8, 15, 22 and 29. Hunt for the Aliens throughout the tween/teen department and turn them in for a prize at the circulation desk. A cosmic cookie walk is 10 a.m. June 8, 15, 22 and 29 in the children’s department.

Former OSU player to speak at men’s breakfast

A former Ohio State football player and nationally known speaker will speak at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church’s men’s breakfast at 7 a.m. June 12 at the Bucyrus Community Hospital cafeteria. Joel Penton, a graduate of the Ohio State University who played five years of football for the Buckeyes, and who now serves as executive director for “Stand for Truth,” will speak about the program, which takes the Gospel to America’s public schools and has reached 1,000 communities and 1,000,000 students in the last 10 Years.

USHS grads celebrate 75th class reunion

USHS Class of ‘44 featured

The Upper Sandusky High School Class of 1944 celebrated its 75th anniversary with a luncheon May 18 at The Village Restaurant in Upper Sandusky. There were 78 members in the class and around 10 are still living. Five were at the meeting including Betty Kimble Corbin, Betty Stansbery Hackworth, Martha Gabriel Bennett, Marilyn Courtad Spitler and Mary Boes Orians. Also attending were guests Barbara Fite (Corbin’s daughter), Mary K. Bower (widow of Glenn Bower) and daughter Cindy Newman, Kathy Wexler (Orian’s daughter) and Randy Roys (Bennett’s son-in-law).
