Open Door hosting giving campaign

The Open Door Resource Center is hosting a Stars and Stripes giving campaign to help continue to serve the families of Wyandot County. Donors may purchase a star or a stripe to help the center build a flag. Recognition for gifts will be given at each level.

ODNR hosting Family Fun Day at Magee Marsh July 5

FINDLAY — Families looking for outdoor fun over the Independence Day weekend are invited to come out to Magee Marsh Wildlife Area on July 5 according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. Activities will include a bird banding demonstration, fishing and archery at the Sportsmen’s Migratory Bird Center located at 13229 W. Ohio 2, Oak Harbor 43449.

Garden tour returns to Tiffin on Sunday

TIFFIN — After a hiatus of several years, the Tiffin Historic Trust is once again offering a summer garden tour. From noon to 5 p.m. June 30, visit 11 floral and vegetable gardens that range from historic to old-fashioned; from serene to whimsical; from extensive and various to a raised-bed enclosure. Visitors may be surprised to discover many colorful varieties of lilies, perennials and even an iron chicken and a mermaid.

Wall that Heals in Marion from July 18-21

MARION — The Wall That Heals, a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica and mobile education center, is coming to Marion July 18-21. The site will be built July 17 at River Valley High School and volunteer ambassadors are needed. The Wall That Heals is staffed 24 hours a day by teams of volunteers to help visitors find names on the wall and to answer questions. Training is given before each shift.

Free program in Forest on July 2

FOREST — With a grant from the Wyandot County Community Foundation, the Forest-Jackson Public Library is holding a special program at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the park in Wharton. Kevin Kaameraad & Friends will present a program full of family fun that excites kids to create.

Carey library reveals July event schedule

July 2019 Happenings at the Dorcas Carey Library A scavenger hunt is going on now through July 20. Join the Scavenger Hunt fun and visit local businesses in Carey and collect pull off tabs.
