Wyandot County residents can access women’s health services on Wyandot On Wheels in their nearby villages.

Those looking to give back to the community may consider becoming a court appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteer.

The Rotary Club of Upper Sandusky is excited to again offer its homemade kettle corn at two events in September. Area residents can find their Rotary friends cooking fresh batches of corn just inside the main entrance of the Wyandot County Fair each afternoon from Sept. 9–15.  Large bags of kettle corn cost $5, and all proceeds go to the club in support of annual scholarships, and a vast array of community service projects that vary year to year.

The library is closed Sept. 2 for Labor Day. Creative Pastimes is 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 3 and 17. Those who enjoy crafts, painting, sewing and other hobbies are invited to bring what they are working on in to the library to work in the company of others.

A community church service is 7 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Master’s Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. This service is a time of prayer and community worship for the Wyandot County Fair.

The following report was prepared and submitted by the Wyandot County Humane Society on Monday and is correct as of that date. Pets reported as missing since the last report that have not been found include a female walker hound, a tan female chihuahua-miniature pinscher, a female pug mix, a white and brown fox terrier-jack russell terrier mix, a male black cat, a female bengal cat and a yellow neutered male cat.

The library is closed Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day. After School Bunch is 3:30 p.m. Sept. 3, 10, 17 and 24 in the children’s department. Every Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. when school is in session, children are invited to do a special craft and enjoy a snack. If school is not in session or is cancelled that day, there will not be After School Bunch.

FINDLAY — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office will be offering their Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Class this fall, beginning on Thursday Sept. 5. The 10-week class is held from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday evenings. Each class features a different area of the Sheriff’s Office, with instructors who specialize in that area.

TIFFIN — The Seneca County Genealogical Society is meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 in the Frost-Kalnow Room of the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library. The program speaker is Thomas Neel presenting a program titled “Indians of Ohio: A Chapter in Native American Research.”

Ethan Bogner, son of Leslie and Brad Bogner, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. He comes to the library quite often with his Grandma, Barb Ruth.
