BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Public Library Board of Trustees recently announced the appointment of a new library director, Stephanie Buchanan, who started Monday. Buchanan replaces Brenda Crider Koehler, who retired after 32 years at the library.

CLYDE — The Patriot Tour, a 110-day journey, that transports one American flag 14,500 miles through all 48 continental states via a city-to-city motorcycle relay is making its way through Ohio, confirmed Bill Sherer, founder and executive director of the Nation of Patriots.

CAREY — Enjoy laughter and crafty company at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday at a crazy crafters event at the Dorcas Carey Public Library. Supplies are provided free of charge, but donations are welcome. This month's craft is a scarecrow.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk Community Library recently announced upcoming events for the month of September. The library is closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.

TIFFIN — The Seneca County Genealogical Society is meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 in the Frost-Kalnow Room of the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library. The program speaker is Thomas Neel presenting a program titled “Indians of Ohio: A Chapter in Native American Research.”

The Wyandot Tracers Genealogy Society, O.G.S. met Aug. 19 for its August meeting. The guest speaker was Christine Yetzer Drain. She is a professional genealogist, with a background in military intelligence and journalism.

MARION — For the second year in a row, Marion Technical College is starting fall semester with an increase in enrollment, bucking national trends. A total of 2,545 students started classes Monday with an increase of 6.5% from last fall.
