Deadline to sign up for diabetes course is Oct. 9

The Wellness Center at Wyandot Memorial Hospital is offering its Living with Diabetes course to diabetics and support persons from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and 17 in the conference room on the hospital’s lower level. Living with Diabetes is a multi-disciplinary approach to disease management, which includes sessions with a nurse, exercise physiologist, dietitian and pharmacist.

Help Me Grow grad

Hunter Riedlinger, three, recently graduated from the Help Me Grow Home Visiting Program. He is the son of Nick and Amber Riedlinger of Upper Sandusky. The program is a voluntary support program for pregnant mothers and parents of young children.

Annual Big Buck Contest deadline is Friday

The deadline to enter the fourth annual Jacob Davidson Memorial Big Buck Contest for Wyandot and adjacent counties is 11:59 p.m. Sept. 27. The scoring event is April 4, 2020. Entry is a $20 donation and 50% of proceeds from the event go toward prize money and additional proceeds will benefit the Jacob Davidson Memorial Scholarship.

Be SMART for Kids gun safety program Wednesday

BUCYRUS — Be SMART for Kids, a gun safety program, will be featured at the Mid-Ohio Progressives meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Bucyrus Public Library. The presentation will be given by a member of Moms Demand Action, a grassroots movement fighting for responsible gun ownership and public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence.

Oktoberfest fundraiser is Saturday

The Wyandot Democratic Party recently announced its first annual multi-county Oktoberfest fundraiser from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 28 at White Shutter Winery & Brewery, 3794 CH 56, Nevada. This event includes Crawford, Hancock, Hardin, Marion, Seneca and Wyandot county Democratic parties.
