EMS/EMA building hosts open house

Wyandot County EMS/EMA held an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at its new building on the corner of North Warpole and Guthrie streets. Pastor Jim Stauffer offered a few words before the American Legion’s flag-raising ceremony near the front entrance.

Wyandot Co Museum featuring veterans displays

The Wyandot County museum is going all out for Veterans Day this weekend, and with good reason. David John II, President of the Wyandot County Historical Society, is a navy veteran, Ronald Marvin Jr., museum curator, is an army veteran and Christine Mesmer, curator of the Overland Inn, also is an army veteran.

Reincarnated

A Wyandot County landmark barn on the Dick and Phyllis Gerber farm east of Upper Sandusky on CH 182 will soon be disappearing. The barn was built in the late 1800s and has to be torn down because of a deteriorating foundation and groundhog damage.

Blue Devils hope to maintain momentum

CAREY — Carey football coach Jonathon Mershman wasn’t sure what to expect heading into this season, but coming off of a historic win in the first-round playoff game, the first-year coach is hopeful the Blue Devils can make a deep run in the postseason.

Smith signs to play softball at NOSU

CAREY — It’s been quite a career for Carey High School senior Felicite Smith and it isn’t over yet. On Wednesday at Carey High School, Smith, surrounded by family members and coaches, signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Division II Northwest Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma.
