A Tiffin man is fighting for his life after a rollover single vehicle accident early Sunday morning near Carey and his family is in need of help. The Wyandot County Sheriff’s report states James R. McGee, of Tiffin, was in the back seat of a 2004 Chevy Cavalier driven by Robert J. Sugden Jr., of Tiffin, heading eastbound on CH 16 near TH 106 when Sugden Jr. dropped a cigarette in the vehicle and lost control while reaching for it.

NEVADA — The return of the Nevada Festival last year was successful and organizers this year are hoping things go even better. Last year’s festival was the first summer village event in more than a decade.

Progress was made during Wednesday’s meeting of the Wyandot County Infirmary Cemetery Memorial committee at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Committee member Mary Reinhart said she spoke with Ryan North, who used ground penetrating radar last July in an attempt to find the location of the cemetery.

The brick home of Tom and Bonnie Eyestone in Carey was one of the six stops on Sunday’s annual home and garden tour. Four homes and two gardens were open for exploration to the public for five hours.

CALEDONIA — Upper Sandusky’s Owen Knapp had a seventh-place finish Tuesday in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament at Whetstone Golf Course. Knapp shot a 95, including a 45 on the back nine. Pleasant’s Minoy Shah was the 13-15 division winner with a 79.
