Rams thump Rockets to reach district final SHELBY — Thirteen strikeouts isn’t a season high for Upper Sandusky senior pitcher Jason Holly. He struck out 17 in a win earlier in the season, and had struck out 13 batters three separate times before Thursday’s contest. But in the Upper Sandusky baseball team’s 11-2 victory over Oak Harbor in the district semifinals Thursday at Shelby, Holly added to his 80 strikeouts on the season, pitching a complete game and allowing just five hits and two runs, striking out the side in one inning and retiring the Rockets in order in the second, third and fifth innings. Smalley sentenced to 30 months for attempted arson A McCutchenville man was sentenced to 30 months in prison for attempted aggravated arson Tuesday. Daniel E. Smalley, 30, McCutchenville, was indicted on an aggravated arson charge Nov. 14, 2018, and pleaded guilty to the reduced charge on March 26. Before the sentencing, Smalley agreed to register as an arson offender. Read More
