Upper Sandusky’s girls tennis team closed out the regular season with a 4-1 loss to Bellevue on Tuesday at Upper Sandusky. The Rams (5-11) got their only win from the No. 1 doubles team of Saki Fukuta and Mara Smalley, who beat Leighann Motley and Sage Garcia 6-1, 6-4.

The Wyandot County Soil and Water Conservation District held its annual soil and water tour Monday morning. The tour featured four programs the department works on with area landowners, explaining the programs to area government officials including the Wyandot County Commissioners, State Rep. Riordan McClain and the Ohio Department of Agriculture Director Dorothy Pelanda.

First responders were called to the scene of a a truck roll-over just after 8 a.m. Tuesday on US 23 north and near Ohio 44. A spokesperson for the Ohio State Highway Patrol said one trailer, pulled by a truck pulling two trailers, overturned.

NEVADA — An Upper Sandusky man announced his candidacy for Ohio State Senate Saturday afternoon at a fundraiser hosted by the Wyandot County Democratic Party. Craig Swartz, a former Upper Sandusky City Council member, announced he was running to represent the 26th District of the Ohio General Assembly for the Ohio 2020 election during the Wyandot County Democratic Party fundraiser at the White Shutter Winery.

Kenton takes advantage of 1st-half free kicks to beat Riverdale 3-1

Kenton made the most of two first-half free kicks, putting them in the back of the net on its way to a 3-1 win over Riverdale on Saturday afternoon in girls soccer action. “For the girls, this is the biggest game of the year,” Kenton coach Ali Manley said. “For me, the WBL games mean more. But the girls are fired up for a win against them, so to them, it meant a lot.”
