Riverdale advances to regionals in 4 events FINDLAY — Riverdale qualified for regionals in four events and just missed with fifth-place finishes nine times in the Division III district meet Saturday at Findlay. The Falcons girls 3200 relay team of Kendra Collier, Makena Barnes, Juleigha Collier and Paige Rothlisberger qualified for regionals with a fourth-place district finish in 10:53.43 on the first day of the meet Thursday, and Tayler Ashburn also qualified that day by taking second in the high jump at 5-0. Ashburn qualified Saturday in the long jump by finishing fourth at 15-1.5, and Eli Weber had a third-place finish in 4:44.23 in the 1600 run. Read More
Ward sentenced to 17 months, maintains innocence A Carey man has been sentenced to 17 months in prison for attempted gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony. Randy A. Ward, 65, was designated as a tier-one sex offender before sentencing at the Wyandot County Common Pleas Court Friday. Ward will be credited with 221 days of time already served. Rams’ Taylor advances to regionals in 400 dash OAK HARBOR — Chloe Taylor advanced to regionals in the 400 dash to lead Upper Sandusky’s track and field team in the conclusion of Division II track and field competition Friday at Oak Harbor. With the top four finishers in each event earned a regional spot, Taylor was fourth in the 400 dash in 1:01.72 and was the Rams’ only athlete to extend their season in a challenging district.
