Jonathan Craig singled in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning and closed it out on the mound as Upper Sandusky beat Mohawk 3-2 in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Tuesday at Upper Sandusky. With the game tied at 2, Roman Russell drew a one-out walk and went to second on a passed ball. Craig singled to center to score Russell and put the Rams on top. The Warriors (8-13, 4-9 N10) had a chance in the top of the seventh. Zikki Magallanes was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and then was sacrificed to second. Brant Kirian singled on a groundball up the middle, but the Rams (12-8, 9-4 N10) kept it on the infield and threw out Magallanes at the plate. Levi Tiell followed with a single, but a strikeout ended it. Mohawk had an early 2-0 lead. Owen Patrizi doubled to lead off the game and scored on Tiell sacrifice fly. Two innings later, Magallanes singled and eventually scored on a second Tiell sacrifice fly. Craig got out of that inning with a pickoff. In the bottom of the inning, Craig reached on an error, Sylar Jones drew a walk and Kasen Gottfried had a bunt single to load the bases. Josh Heilman hit a sacrifice fly, and then with two outs, a Toby Holman single scored Jones and tied the game. Craig (2-3) allowed two runs on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts in a complete game. Patrizi and Kirian both had two hits for Mohawk. Andon Clouse (2-3) was a tough-luck loser, giving up three unearned runs on five hits and four walks with 11 strikeouts in six innings.
