Pauline Swavel, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at Vancrest of Upper Sandusky.

Services for Pauline will be private, with burial at St. Bernard Cemetery, in New Washington.

Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.

Pauline was born Jan. 26, 1950, in Bucyrus to David Charles and Della Devere (Rook) Homier. Pauline was married to Paul L. Swavel and he preceded her in death Sept. 7, 2002.

Pauline is survived by her sons, Cy Swavel, of Upper Sandusky; and Lee (Terry) Brewington, of Mansfield; grandchildren Levi Swavel, Zachary Brewington and Alexa (Brewington) Kamenik; sister Luella (Larry) Myers, of Bucyrus; and close friends Mary Lou Schieffer and Mary and Barry Wines.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister Maryann Boyce.

Pauline was a homemaker for many years, owner and operator of the Red Apple restaurant in Bucyrus in the 1980s with her husband Paul. In her later years, Pauline worked at M-Tek in Upper Sandusky.   

Pauline attended Our Lady of Consolation in Carey for many years.

She was a former member of the Crawford County Coon Hunters Association, where she ran the kitchen.

Pauline loved her animals and watching wildlife. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning vegetables and going to auctions or garage sales where she would look for treasures. Pauline especially loved spending time with her grandson Levi.

She was a kind, sweet soul that knew no stranger.
