Youth wrestling tourney slated

TIFFIN — Heidelberg University will host its youth wrestling tournament “Bergmania” on Feb. 24 at Seiberling Gymnasium, 91 Hedges St., Tiffin.
Competition is broken into divisions by age: 6 and younger, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Session 1 for those 8 and younger and 11-12 begins at 9:15 a.m. Session 2 for those 9-10 and 13-14 is set for 1:30 p.m.
Modified high school rules will be used with two periods of 1:30 each, both beginning in the neutral position. Ten-point leads constitute a technical fall. The tournament is double-elimination format. Awards will be given for first- through fourth-place.
The cost is $15 per wrestler, if the coach calls in the wrestler and weight ahead of time. The cost for walk-in wrestlers is $20. Checks should be made payable to Heidelberg Wrestling.
The event is an OhioWrestler.com top-20 point scoring event.
All pre-registration weights must be emailed by 8 a.m. Feb. 22. Wrestlers must bring signed applications, available at www.heidelberg.edu/athletics/teams/mwrestling/bergmania-0.
