Safety blotter: August 1, 2019

A caller reported observing a female carrying a backpack and possibly not wearing any shoes crawl into railroad cars on the 100 block of West Hicks Street the morning of July 31. The responding officers searched the cars as well as other cars in the area and were unable to locate anyone.

Safety blotter: July 31, 2019

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on the 300 block of Spring Street the afternoon of July 29. The involved parties were advised to avoid future contact with each other. An Upper Sandusky man reported the use of his debit card information by someone from Bellevue the afternoon of July 29. The man was advised to contact the Bellevue Police Department because the offense occurred in its jurisdiction.

Candida D. Stutzman, Upper Sandusky, was arrested on a bench warrant from Upper Sandusky Municipal Court for failure to appear the morning of July 27. Betty Bennett, Upper Sandusky, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign and seat belt violation following a two-vehicle accident on South Seventh and Church streets the evening of July 27

Safety blotter: July 29, 2019

A caller reported an impaired driver on the 1600 block of East Wyandot Avenue the early morning of July 26. The responding officer was unable to locate the vehicle. An officer on patrol discovered an open storage door on the 100 block of North Sandusky Avenue the early morning of July 26. The officer did not find any criminal activity inside and then secured the door.

Safety blotter: July 27, 2019

John E. Bennett Jr. was arrested by Kenton Police and transferred to the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office the morning of July 25. Lacy J. Massie, Nevada, was arrested on a warrant on indictment out of Wyandot County Common Pleas Court for aggravated possession of drugs the morning of July 25.

Safety blotter: July 26, 2019

An officer assisted the Upper Sandusky Fire Department with a fire alarm at Fairhaven Community the early morning of July 25 until he was no longer needed. The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office reported a private property accident at Speedway West the early morning of July 25. A semi trailer struck a parking pole. Digital photos were taken of the damage and placed on an incident drive.

Safety blotter: July 25, 2019

Officers assisted the Upper Sandusky Fire Department with an alarm at First Citizen’s National Bank the morning of July 24. No fire was present, but a fire alarm had been pulled. An Upper Sandusky woman reported the theft of a car battery on the 100 block of Evergreen Lane the afternoon of July 24. Neighbors told the responding officer they did not observe anyone tampering with the vehicle.

An Upper Sandusky woman reported a scam the morning of July 23, saying she had received a call that she had won $250 million, but needed checking account information. The woman was advised to keep an eye on her accounts in case her information was used and a report was filed.

An Upper Sandusky woman reported an unruly runaway juvenile on the 200 block of East Johnson Street the early morning of July 22. The juvenile was found across the street with a friend and a report was forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor.

An officer assisted Wyandot County EMS with a medical alarm on the 100 block of River Street the early morning of July 19. An Upper Sandusky woman had accidentally tripped her alert button while sleeping. A Harpster man reported a hit/skip accident on the 100 block of North Sandusky Avenue the morning of July 19. The man said he was calling in case the other party reported the accident and said he would fix a rear corner light on his vehicle himself.
