Bucyrus library to hold special hours May 31

BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Public Library will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on May 27. The library also will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 31 for the purpose of staff CPR/AED training in the morning and will open at 2 p.m. The library apologizes for the inconvenience.

Living History Days are May 31 to June 2

CRESTLINE — Living History Days began in 2003 as a way to celebrate Ohio’s bicentennial. Over the past 16 years, it has expanded to two days and added many programs. This year, Living History Days will be held from May 31 through June 2 at Lowe Volk Park.

Lake La Su An open for fishing thru Aug. 2

FINDLAY — Fisheries biologists have set the special fishing regulations for this year at Lake La Su An Wildlife Area, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. This year Lake La Su An Wildlife Area will be open for fishing May 3 through Aug. 2. Fishing will be permitted Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from sunrise to sunset during this open season. La Su An Wildlife Area will be closed to fishing at all other times, except for Lake Wood Duck, which will remain open year-round. Anglers are reminded that they will not need a reservation to fish the lakes on La Su An Wildlife Area, but all vehicles must park in a designated parking space.

DD council taking apps for new members

The Ohio Development Disabilities Council is recruiting new membership for the following categories: — Individual with a developmental disability. — Parent or guardian of a child with a developmental disability. — A representative from a private non-profit organization serving persons with developmental disabilities.

Final bake sale of year this weekend at OLC

CAREY – The Father Paul Volunteer Bakery at Our Lady of Consolation will have its final spring bake sale today and Sunday. Apple, pumpkin and Dutch apple pies will be sold at a special price. Other pies will include rhubarb, cherry, strawberry/rhubarb, grape and blackberry.

Free hearing screenings offered at WMH on Thursday

Audiologist Courtney Thiel will provide free hearing screenings for individuals 60 and above 9-11:30 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. Thursday and May 31 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Appointments are required for the free screenings. The first 20 callers to schedule will receive a complimentary Beca House Coffee Co. beverage.
