Students in St. Peter School’s first-grade class blow bubbles Monday afternoon on the Wyandot County Courthouse lawn in observance of Child Abuse Prevention Month.

An Illinois man who pleaded guilty to felony drug charges after Wyandot County authorities seized 4,000 hits of acid and $16,000 in cash during a traffic stop was sentenced to more than five years in prison Monday morning.

The Blue Devils’ defense came through with good plays in the top of the inning and then came through at the plate, winning on Dani Berardinelli-Clark’s sacrifice fly, in a 3-2 victory against Mohawk on Monday.

Pinch runner Jack Smith just beat the throw home to score the winning run from second base on Sam Musgrave’s hit up the middle, giving Upper Sandusky a 10-9 come-from-behind win against Hopewell-Loudon and a split of a doubleheader Saturday. The Chieftains won the first game, 10-6.

Angeline clients with developmental disabilities and senior citizens living at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center are connecting through art. Artists from Angeline’s Art Connections studio in Carey visited the rural Upper Sandusky nursing facility Friday.

Knights of Columbus Council No. 2050 has been serving up fish every Friday during the Lenten season for 25 years. Initially for members only, the weekly fish fries have been open to the public for several years, drawing in hundreds of people and raising money the group gives back in part to the community.
