Osborn’s slam propels Warriors

Grand slam

CAREY — Mohawk’s win streak is still going at six, and a couple of the balls the Warriors hit Monday night might be, too. A Tanner Osborn grand slam to left field in the sixth inning opened up a comfortable lead, and Rico Lopez rode out a complete game in an 8-2 Mohawk victory at Carey on Monday.

CAREY — Both teams had chances in the seventh inning, but it was Carey that made the most of them. The Blue Devils’ defense came through with good plays in the top of the inning and then came through at the plate, winning on Dani Berardinelli-Clark’s sacrifice fly, in a 3-2 victory against Mohawk on Monday.

K of C fish fries to benefit nonprofits

Knights of Columbus Council No. 2050 has been serving up fish every Friday during the Lenten season for 25 years. Initially for members only, the weekly fish fries have been open to the public for several years, drawing in hundreds of people and raising money the group gives back in part to the community.
