Warriors clinch share of N10 title

Since 2012, the Mohawk volleyball team had not won a league title. But moments after Kaylee Ward’s kill gave the Warriors a nine-point third set victory, the Warriors clinched at least a share of the of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference title with a 25-12, 25-15, 25-16 victory over Upper Sandusky on Tuesday at Upper Sandusky High School.

Riverdale holds off Kenton, 2-1, for nonconference victory

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale took a two-goal lead early in the second half and then held off Kenton the rest of the way for a 2-1 win in a non-conference girls soccer matchup on Saturday. Riverdale (8-4-2) controlled play for almost the entire first half, keeping the ball in the Kenton end of the field and taking a 1-0 lead 18:44 into the game when Hanna Breidenbach scored off an assist from Brooke Kuenzli.

Van Buren clinches title share with win

Van Buren clinched a share of the boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association title with a 7-0 victory at Upper Sandusky on Saturday. The Black Knights (13-2, 4-1 NCOSA) will share the championship with Riverdale (6-4-3, 3-1 NCOSA) if the Falcons beat Cory-Rawson on Thursday night.

Mohawk seniors Alex Lersch and Molly Danner were named homecoming king and queen before the start of Friday’s football game against Bucyrus. Danner, a Sycamore native, is a daughter of Larry and Maria Danner. Lersch, a Melmore native, is a son of James and Mary Anne Lersch.
