Rural Nevada man killed in crash along flooded road A rural Nevada man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning on TH 136 after floodwaters washed out a portion of the road, Wyandot County Sheriff Michael Hetzel said. Jonathon K. Miller, age 29, was a passenger in a 1998 Chevrolet truck driven by Anthony C. Moler, age 29, of Sycamore. Sleep tight: Don’t let the bedbugs bite Parents have been telling their children to sleep tight and “don’t let the bedbugs bite” for years, and until the last few decades, children could sleep soundly, as bed bug populations were not an issue in the United States. Jeffrey Ritchey, director of environmental health at the Wyandot County Health District explained that bedbugs were almost completely eradicated in the United States thanks to the chemical DDT. However, use of DDT was discontinued after it was found to also have harmful effects on wildlife and the environment. With increased tourism to countries where bedbugs were not, for the most part, eradicated, the tiny bloodsucking bugs that creep and crawl at night made their way back to the United States in the late 1990s, he said.
