PY 2026 CDBG PROGRAM
PUBLIC HEARING #2
Hardin County intends to apply to the Ohio Department of Development for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The CDBG Program is a federally funded program administered by the State of Ohio. The County conducted its first public hearing on May 14, 2026 to inform citizens about the CDBG Program, how funds may be used, what activities are eligible, and other important program requirements.
A second public hearing will be held on June 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the Hardin County Board of Commissioners Office, Hardin County Courthouse, One Courthouse Sq., Suite 100, Kenton, Ohio 43326. The hearing is to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the proposed CDBG Program applications before the County submits the applications to the Ohio Department of Development on June 10, 2026.
Hardin County is eligible to apply for up to $500,000 in PY 2026 CDBG Critical Infrastructure Program funds to assist the City of Kenton in making phase 1 storm sewer collection system improvements. All work proposed for the grant will be carried out between September 1, 2026 and August 31, 2028. Projects under consideration include:
$470,000 in CDBG CIP funds to assist the City of Kenton with a Flood and Drainage Facilities project. The project meets the National Objective for LMI Area Benefit (61.00% LMI).
$30,000 in CDBG CIP funds for General Administration.
Citizens are encouraged to attend this meeting in order to express their views and comments on the County's proposed PY 2026 CDBG Program applications.
