STREET/SANITATION LABORER
The City of Upper Sandusky is accepting applications for a full-time Street/Sanitation Maintenance Laborer.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the general supervision of the street and sanitation superintendent, performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled tasks to assist in the construction, maintenance and repair of city streets, landscapes, and facilities; operates light and heavy motorized equipment, hand, and power tools; operates refuse truck to collect solid waste, household debris, and recyclable materials from residences and businesses throughout the city; performs routine maintenance and repair of equipment operated.
QUALIFICIATIONS: Completion of secondary education (high school diploma or GED equivalent) plus six (6) months experience in building, grounds, or street maintenance and operation of medium to heavy equipment, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must obtain a valid commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements within 60 days immediately following the date of employment; most possess valid state of Ohio driver’s license on date of employment; must maintain all required licenses and remain insurable under the city’s vehicle insurance policy for the duration of employment.
