Mohawk facing strong offense

SYCAMORE — Mohawk has faced its share of high-powered offenses throughout the regular season. The Warriors’ defense will be tested yet again, as they face a Pandora-Gilboa offense that Mohawk coach Brent Konkle said is similar to two teams they have seen in Northern 10 Athletic League play in numerous ways — Wynford and Seneca East.

Individual champ

Carey Our Lady of Consolation eighth-grader Sarah Reinhart recently won the Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls junior high championship for the second straight year in the league cross country meet at Seneca East. She ran the 2-mile race in 12:31.63 to win by almost 26 seconds.

Wynford selling playoff tickets

BUCYRUS — The Wynford Athletic Department has presale tickets available this week for the Friday home playoff game against Carey. Tickets will be on sale during school hours through Thursday and until noon Friday.

Basketball ref class being held

TIFFIN — The Tiffin Basketball Officials Association is offering the class required to become an OHSAA basketball official. The cost is $65, which is the cost required to obtain certification with the OHSAA.
