ST. MARYS — Reygan Frey scored two goals as the Riverdale girls soccer team won its fourth straight match with a 3-1 victory against St. Marys Memorial on Saturday.

MILAN — Coby Miller scored two goals, but the Riverdale boys soccer team fell short, 4-2, in a non-conference match Saturday at Edison. The Chargers (7-4) scored the first three goals. Ian Janssen scored two goals and Nick Lombardi one, all of them in the first 15 minute of the match.

Owen Mawer finished ninth in 12:36.20 to lead Upper Sandusky to a fifth-place finish in the Upper Sandusky Elks Middle School Invitational on Thursday at Harrison Smith Park.

BUCYRUS — Twenty-seven up, twenty-seven down. Wynford outlasted Carey, 37-20, Friday night to jump into a tie for first place in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference standings. That’s right where the Royals belong.

For much of the first half, the score looked like a baseball game had broken out Friday night between the Mohawk and Upper Sandusky football teams. The first quarter ended with Mohawk leading 2-0 thanks to a safety of Mason Vent.

FINDLAY — Liberty-Benton did not need much firepower from the offense. The defense and special teams accounted for four non-offensive touchdowns in the first half as the Eagles soared past visiting Riverdale by a 63-0 margin on Friday night.

CAREY — Carey’s boys and girls cross country teams each enjoyed a home victory in the Blue Devil Run on Thursday. The boys placed five in the top 10 to run away from second-place Elmwood, 22-55, while the girls had four finishers in the top nine to aide a 25-65 edge over North Baltimore.

Upper Sandusky forced a fourth set, but unbeaten Liberty-Benton finished it off there with a 25-11, 25-18, 25-27, 25-16 victory in a non-conference volleyball match Thursday night.

BUCYRUS — Sophomore Brett Montgomery earned medalist honors and clinched Northern 10 Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors for the second straight season as Upper Sandusky defeated Mohawk, 165-182, and Bucyrus (203) on Thursday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus.

BUCYRUS — Down 2-0, Bucyrus rallied on the road to defeat rival Wynford, 19-25, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-12 on Thursday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match.
