Montgomery’s even-par 72 good for 4th after Day 1 at state tourney

SUNBURY — While it was not perfect, Brett Montgomery’s opening round in the Division II state golf tournament Friday at NorthStar Golf Club was good enough. The Upper Sandusky sophomore shot a 72 and is tied for fourth place after one day. “I’m pretty happy about it,” Montgomery said. “I’m not ecstatic. I left a few shots out there, but I also got a few back. Overall, I can’t complain.”
