Carey holds off Buckeye Central to move to top of N10 standings

CAREY — With his team trailing Carey by 11 points in the second quarter, Buckeye Central girls basketball coach Greg Moore knew exactly what adjustments to make. Moore switched the Bucks’ defense from a 1-3-1 zone to a man to man with a press and used pick and rolls and screens on offense to enable leading scorers Jenna Karl and Courtney Pifher to get more open looks.

3rd annual NW district indoor meet Jan. 19

FINDLAY — The third annual Northwest Ohio District Indoor Track and Field Invitational will be held Jan. 19 at the Malcom Athletic Center inside the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex at the University of Findlay. There will be awards for champion and runner-up teams.

Upper athletes to get passes for all events

The Upper Sandusky Athletic Boosters has announced the creation of the Jim Morrison Athletic Pass. All student-athletes who participated in a spring or fall sport, or are currently participating in a winter sport will receive the pass that will be good for the remainder of the school year.

Steals, defensive intensity guide Rams to victory against Tigers

ATTICA — It’s something the Upper Sandusky boys basketball team does nearly every game, and during the Rams’ 74-50 victory over Seneca East on Saturday, it swung momentum in their favor and put them ahead for good. With the Rams trailing by five points with seven minutes remaining in the second quarter, Mason Vent buried a 3-pointer from the right wing.
