BUCYRUS — Wynford senior Wyatt Smith considered many colleges to continue his football and baseball careers, but one stood out from the rest. Smith narrowed it down to Heidelberg University, the University of Northwestern Ohio, Walsh University and Lake Erie College, but given the fact that Lake Erie College allowed him to play both sports, he chose the Storm.

BASCOM — On a night when their second leading scorer was held scoreless, the Carey boys basketball team still found enough offensive balance to advance to the sectional finals. Junior guard Griffin Summit scored a career-high 21 points and senior guard Trey Bame added 11 points including three 3-pointers as the Carey Blue Devils defeated Wynford 64-41 on Wednesday in the Division III sectional semifinal at Hopewell-Loudon High School.
