The Upper Sandusky High School cheer competition team placed second in the Division 4 OASSA State Championships at St. John’s Arena. There were 22 teams that qualified in the regionals to go on to compete in the state championship.

Dible gets 1st-team honors

Jevon Dible

Upper Sandusky’s Jevon Dible was a first-team pick to the All-Northwest District team in Division III as selected by area media members and released Wednesday evening. Dible, a senior guard and the District 6 player of the year, averaged 15.0 points per game during the regular season to lead the Rams and was tops in the team with averages of 6.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

Vikings use length to cause problems, win district title

FINDLAY — While Leipsic does not have anyone the size of Carey’s Sydney Kin, the Vikings used their height at every position to create problems. With all five starters measuring at 5-8 or 5-9, Leipsic used its length to cause the Blue Devils struggles on offense in a 58-44 victory Saturday night in a Division IV girls basketball district final at Liberty-Benton.

Carey’s May, Mohawk’s Price earn 2 trips to Columbus

DEFIANCE — Emotions were mixed for Mohawk and Carey at the conclusion of the Division III district wrestling tournament Saturday at Defiance. The Warriors’ Daniel Price and the Blue Devils’ Tanner May both earned return trips to the state tournament, but a few other close misses resulted in some disappointment, especially for Mohawk.
