MOUNT BLANCHARD — Clinging to a one-point lead at halftime, the Riverdale boys basketball team made a key adjustment to pull away from McComb in the third quarter en route to a 69-48 victory Friday in a Blanchard Valley Conference game.

MORRAL — Carey blew open a huge early lead and coasted to an 85-45 victory against Ridgedale on Friday night in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game. The Blue Devils (13-6, 8-6 N10) led 27-11 after one quarter, 50-20 at halftime and 70-33 after three quarters.

BUCYRUS — Wynford outscored Seneca East in three of the four quarters Friday, but still managed to drop a Northern 10 Athletic Conference game to the Tigers 70-67.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale and Arlington meet in a Division IV sectional final matchup a week from Saturday at Hopewell-Loudon. Watching their regular season match on Thursday, one would have thought it was the tournament matchup as both teams played like their seasons were on the line, exchanging the lead 15 times before Arlington used a 7-0 run in the final two minutes to pull out a 72-64 victory.

The Upper Sandusky High School competition cheer squad recently competed in the OASAA Northwest Regional Competition and qualified for state March 4.

Upper Sandusky senior Abigail Fogle signed her national letter of intent to play basketball at Ohio Northern University on Wednesday. “I really liked the campus when I went on my visit that week,” Fogle said.

CAREY — Upper Sandusky had a wrestler place in the top three in every weight class en route to a dominant team victory at the Junior High Northern 10 Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Carey.
