BUCYRUS — As promising as it looked for the Wynford softball team early, the Royals weren't able to maintain a one-run lead as the Colonel Crawford Eagles scored two runs in the sixth inning and one run in the seventh in a 6-4 victory over Wynford on Friday.

Alivia Oney continued her hot start to the season, delivering three more hits at the plate and a win in the pitching circle as Upper Sandusky topped Ridgedale, 10-3, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Friday. Oney doubled, singled twice and drove in a run on offense.

CAREY — Carey senior pitcher Blayc Hacker has never lost to Colonel Crawford. Hacker, who entered Thursday’s softball game with four career wins against the Eagles, tossed a complete game shutout with no runs, two hits, 10 strikeouts and two walks to lead the Blue Devils to a 5-0 victory over the Eagles at Water Works Park.

SYCAMORE — A week after Buckeye Central walked off a winner against Mohawk, the Warriors returned the favor Thursday. Jesse Leeth scored on an error during a rundown after a failed squeeze bunt to give Mohawk the 4-3 win in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball play.

CAREY — Carey had back-to-back big innings and took an 11-4 victory Thursday against Colonel Crawford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball play. Down 2-1, the Blue Devils (3-0, 2-0 N10) scored six times in the fourth inning and four times in the fifth inning.

VAN BUREN — Upper Sandusky scored seven times in the third inning and held on a for a 9-7 victory against Van Buren in a nonconference baseball game Thursday.

SYCAMORE — Tess Weinandy homered, doubled and drove in two runs as the Mohawk softball team rolled to a 10-0 win in five innings against Buckeye Central on Thursday. The Warriors (3-2, 2-1 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) started slow, scoring once with a two-out rally in the second inning and then scoring four times each in the third and fourth innings. A run in the fifth ended the game.
