KENTON — The Hardin County Family YMCA has announced plans for holding the February Frenzy adult 3-on-3 basketball double elimination tournament on Feb. 16-17 at the YMCA in Kenton. The tournament will have men's and women's divisions and is for all adults 18 and older.

Carey locked in on defense and in doing so took control of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with a 47-29 victory against Upper Sandusky on Tuesday night. The Blue Devils limited the Rams to 26.2 percent shooting and closed the game on a 21-3 run to pull away.

SYCAMORE — All season long, the Mohawk girls basketball team has been searching for the best way to string together four solid quarters. This time, a scoreless third quarter created a deficit the Warriors couldn’t overcome in a 36-28 loss to Colonel Crawford on Tuesday at Mohawk High School.

MORRAL — Ally Johnson scored as many points in the second half as Wynford did in the entire game, leading Ridgedale to a 43-20 victory Tuesday night in Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball action. Johnson tallied 20 of her 23 points after halftime to help the Rockets (6-9, 3-6 N10) pull away.

ELMORE — Carey was edged, 40-35, by Elmwood and lost a 49-20 decision against Gibsonburg in a quad-meet Tuesday at Woodmore. Kadin Smiley, Reece Mullholand, Trevor Phoenix and Ethan Schlack all went 2-0 for the Blue Devils.

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky’s eighth grade girls basketball team took a 35-14 victory against Bucyrus on Tuesday. Madison Byrum scored 12 points, Jenna Kurtz had 11 points, and Harley Brown finished with 8 points to lead the Rams.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Upper Sandusky cheerleading team took one of the top overall awards Sunday in the Mindi Justice Cheer Extravaganza at Riverdale. The Rams won the large varsity high school division and won grand champion overall.

CAREY — Five seconds was all it took for Carey High School sophomore Tanner May to advance to the next round and maintain his perfect record during the Carey Classic on Saturday at Carey High School. In the second round of the four-person round robin in the 182 pound weight class, May pinned Lucas Zamuido of Gibsonburg in five seconds, a time that is tied for the 16th fastest time in state history.

LEXINGTON — Few teams have the combination of athleticism and basketball skill to match Upper Sandusky but Lexington did — and it used greater size to its advantage in a 65-52 non-conference victory Saturday night.

MARION — Noah Clary and Connor Johnston both finished second to lead Upper Sandusky to a fifth-place finish, while Daniel Price, Rico Lopez and Parker Brown all finished second to help Mohawk finish ninth among 17 teams in the Marion County Invitational this weekend at the Marion County Fairgrounds Coliseum.
