NEW WASHINGTON — Carey scored five runs in the fifth inning and six runs in the seventh inning to pull away for a 16-2 victory against Buckeye Central in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday. The Blue Devils (10-2, 8-0 N10) scored a combined five runs in the first two innings but could not get separation until late.

NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore used a five-run third inning to top Riverdale, 6-1, in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Monday. The Tigers (7-4, 3-1 BVC) scored a single run in the first inning, while Aidian Loveridge singled in Alec Loveridge for the Falcons’ only run in the sixth inning.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Katelynn Weinandy threw a no-hitter as North Baltimore blanked Riverdale, 25-0, in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game Monday. Weinandy struck out seven and did not walk anyone.

The most challenging thing about the spring this far has been the weather, but it finally took a turn for the better just in time for Saturday’s Swankhouse Invitational at Upper Sandusky. Both the Rams boys and girls finished third, while the short-handed Mohawk boys and girls team both came in eighth. Oak Harbor captured the boys and girls championships.

TOLEDO — Sure, the Upper Sandusky baseball team’s contest with Ottoville on Saturday may have been scoreless if the Rams hadn’t committed six errors, hit any batters or thrown wild pitches. But the Rams had a bigger challenge: Figuring out how to hit the fastball and curveball of Ottoville starting pitcher Josh Thorbahn.

Three of five entrants placed for Upper Sandusky as the Rams took third place Saturday in the Jim Grandy Invitational at Bucyrus. Levi Malone was runner-up at No. 2 singles, Landon Ramos and Grant Bower were second at No. 2 doubles, and Sam Stuckman and Keegan Hossler finished third at No. 1 doubles.

The 2003 Mohawk state championship softball team was inducted into the Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday night at the Masters’ Building.

BUCYRUS — Plymouth rallied from a five-run deficit to beat Wynford, 13-11, in a nonconference baseball game Saturday. The Big Red scored once in the sixth inning and then used a six-run top of the seventh to win.

MANSFIELD — Madie Wagner had a combined for five hits, six RBIs, seven runs and three stolen bases as Wynford dominated a nonconference softball doubleheader at Mansfield Christian, 24-5 and 19-5, on Saturday. The Royals (5-6) asserted themselves right away with 11 runs in the first inning of the first game.

NORTH ROBINSON — The Carey baseball team hung on for a 4-3 victory against Colonel Crawford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Saturday. The Blue Devils (11-0, 9-0 N10) scored twice in the third inning and once each in the fifth and sixth innings to take a 4-0 lead.
