Blue Devils set record with 6-0 win

TIFFIN — Not only did the Carey baseball team remain undefeated with a 6-0 victory over Tiffin Calvert on Tuesday, but the Blue Devils’ seniors set a new record. With the victory, the senior class became the class with the most wins throughout a career.

Riverdale girls win home tri-meet

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale girls track team finished first and the boys track team finished in a second-place tie at a tri meet at Riverdale on Monday. The Riverdale girls track team finished first with a team score of 79, while Arlington finished second with a team score of 49, edging out, Arcadia, which finished third with a total of 42.

SYCAMORE — Bo Smith struck out 15 and stayed undefeated on the mound as he outdueled Cole Widmer in Seneca East’s 2-0 victory against Mohawk on Monday in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game. Smith (5-0) allowed eight hits and one walk but stranded runners by blowing the ball past hitters.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk scored seven times in the third inning and four more times in the fourth inning to turn a close game into a run-rule contest in an 11-1 victory against Seneca East in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday.

Late runs lead Rams to 4-3 victory

Despite the rain and wind, the Upper Sandusky baseball team scored two runs in the fifth inning and one in the sixth to secure a 4-3 victory over Bucyrus at Upper Sandusky High School on Monday. The Rams (8-7, 5-4 N10) also withstood a late rally from the Redmen, who scored one run in the top of the seventh, but couldn’t get any closer.

Upper Sandusky scored a run in the first inning but that was all it managed against Caleigh Rister as Bucyrus took a 5-1 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Monday. The Redmen (8-3, 6-2 N10) took the lead with two runs in the third inning and scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

Upper girls, boys win tri-meet

Upper Sandusky’s girls and boys were victorious and Wynford was third in a track and field tri-meet that also included Seneca East on Monday. The Rams girls won with 100 points, followed by the Tigers with 52 points and the Royals with 22.

Six-run 7th inning lifts Blue Devils

NEW WASHINGTON — Thanks to a seventh inning in which it scored six runs, the Carey baseball team remained undefeated with a 7-2 victory over Buckeye Central on Monday at Buckeye Central High School. With the game tied at 1 entering the seventh inning, Jordan Dasher singled, Brayden Wentling doubled, Trey Bame drew a walk and Grant Frederick, Caden Owens, Reece Mullholand, Marcus Miller and Dylan Grothaus each had an RBI single in the seventh inning for the Blue Devils.
