CAREY — The Ridgedale girls got on the board first, but a six-run response from the Carey softball team helped the Blue Devils remain unbeaten in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play Friday. Carey (13-2, 10-0 N10) tacked on four more runs to comfortably defeat Ridgedale 10-3.

CAREY — The Carey baseball team completed a perfect week and improved its perfect record to 16-0 with a 9-1 home victory against Ridgedale on Friday.

ATTICA — Wynford hung tough with one of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s top baseball teams, but a late rally fell just short in a 5-3 loss to Seneca East on Friday. Wynford (5-8, 4-4 N10) got on the board in the first inning when leadoff hitter Wyatt Smith singled and was knocked in by Caleb Stone.

ATTICA — Seneca East scored seven times in the fifth and sixth innings to pull away for a 12-4 victory against Wynford on Friday in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game. The Royals (5-8, 2-7 N10) scored twice in the first inning, but the Tigers (8-4, 5-4 N10) took the lead for good with three in the bottom of the first.

HARROD — Allen East’s offense came alive late in a 9-3 victory against Riverdale in a nonconference baseball game Friday. The Falcons (8-7) scored two runs in the first inning but managed only one run in the fifth inning after that.

CASTALIA — Wynford’s boys were ninth and the girls were 11th in the Margaretta Invitational on Friday. Edison was the girls winner with 126.5 points. The Royals scored 17 points. Smithville took the boys title with 147 points, with the Royals scoring 24 points.

Down 2-1 with two outs in the fifth inning against Mohawk, Upper Sandusky had just who it wanted at the plate. Ben Sheaffer delivered a two-run triple that propelled the Rams to a 10-4 victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game.

Mohawk senior Hannah Jordan may be a pitcher, infielder or outfielder for the Mount Vernon Nazarene University softball team next season. If Thursday is any indication, she will thrive in the circle as well as at the plate.

NORTH BALTIMORE — The Carey baseball team’s goal at the beginning of the season was to reach a school-record 15 wins. The Blue Devils did it in just 15 games. With a 6-5 victory at North Baltimore on Wednesday, Carey improved to 15-0.

McGUFFEY — Riverdale’s girls won three of the four relays and took first place Thursday in the Upper Scioto Valley Ram Invitational. The Falcons scored 143.5 points, with Ada taking second with 108.5 points.
