The third annual Cory Washburn Memorial Wrestling Tournament is March 18 at Upper Sandusky Middle School, 390 W. Walker St., Upper Sandusky. Proceeds benefit the USMS eighth grade class trip to Washington, D.C.

Upper Sandusky High School will host a spring sports parent meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 26. Parents of all spring sports athletes are expected to attend.

TIFFIN — Buckeye Elite travel basketball club will be hosting tryouts at Tiffin Calvert High School. Tryouts for seventh grade boys will be 3-4:15 p.m. and for eighth grade girls 4:30-5:45 p.m. Sunday.

CAREY — Mohawk did everything it could to push Upper Sandusky, but the Rams’ superior depth was enough to carry them to their second straight Northern 10 Athletic Conference wrestling championship Saturday at Carey.

BASCOM — Wayne Frey won the 138-pound championship as Riverdale finished eighth Saturday in the Blanchard Valley Conference wrestling tournament at Hopewell-Loudon. Thane Gallegos finished second in the 145-pound weight class for the Falcons, who came in eighth with 43 points.

RIDGEWAY — Faith Jenkins and Priscilla Howard combined for 33 points to lead Ridgemont to a 57-21 victory against Mohawk in a nonconference girls basketball game Saturday. Jenkins scored 19 points, while Howard had 14 points. Jennifer Jordan added 8 points.

BUCYRUS – Carey overcame a slow start with a huge third quarter in a 70-50 victory at Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game Saturday night. The Blue Devils (14-6, 9-6 N10) trailed 16-7 after one quarter and 30-26 at halftime but outscored the Redmen 29-9 in the third quarter and 15-11 in the fourth quarter.

MORRAL — Zach Hayman scored 19 points, and Chris Klopp posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Mohawk to a 66-35 victory at Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game Saturday night.

Upper Sandusky fastpitch softball signups for girls currently in kindergarten through eighth grade are being held the next two weeks at the Upper Sandusky Fire Department. Signup dates are 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, 6-8 p.m. Feb. 26, and 11 a.m. to noon March 3.
