BUCYRUS – Upper Sandusky’s boys and Mohawk’s girls were runner-up Friday in the Wynford Junior High Invitational track and field meet. Colonel Crawford won the girls title, 94.5-87.5, over the Warriors, with the host Royals third with 87 points and the Rams fourth with 74 points.

CAREY — A tough three-game stretch began with a setback Monday but two days later, the Carey softball team is a game away from clinching the Northern 10 Athletic Conference title. Blayc Hacker struck out 10 and Hailey Niederkohr hit a home run on her birthday as Carey avenged an earlier loss by beating Bucyrus, 6-1, on Wednesday at Waterworks Park.

Trailing by two heading into the bottom of the seventh, the Upper Sandusky softball team scored three runs in a 4-3 walk-off victory over Wynford on Wednesday at Upper Sandusky High School. Jade Holman led off with a bunt single and stole second.

CAREY — The Carey baseball team built a six-run lead, saw it disappear when it gave up nine runs in the fifth inning and then rallied with a five-run sixth inning to beat Bucyrus, 12-10, on Wednesday in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game.

MORRAL — Down to its final out, Mohawk strung together a rally to score in the seventh inning and then went off for six runs in the eighth inning to take an 11-5 victory against Ridgedale in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday.

MORRAL — Cole Widmer hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh and Parker Brown struck out the side in the bottom of the inning as Mohawk defeated Ridgedale, 8-7, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday.

LEIPSIC — Leipsic scored nine times in the first inning on its way to a 23-2 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game Wednesday. The Vikings (7-9, 4-5 BVC) added six runs each in the second and fourth innings and two in the third inning.

LEIPSIC — Leipsic scored two runs in the sixth inning and then walked off with two runs in the bottom of the seventh, beating Riverdale, 4-3, in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday. Riverdale (10-9, 6-4 BVC) held a 3-0 lead by scoring two runs in the fourth inning and then one in the top of the sixth.

GALION — Despite losing the No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles matches, the Upper Sandusky boys tennis team was victorious in three matches in a 3-2 victory over Galion on Wednesday. In the No. 1 singles match, Clay Burger defeated Alec Dicus 6-4, 6-0.
