COLUMBUS — In his final speech at an Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association meeting on Tuesday, Ohio High School Athletic Association Executive Director Dan Ross provided an update on competitive balance and discussed the baseball season schedule change and other items.

The 15th annual Upper Sandusky High School Swankhouse Invitational is 9:30 a.m. Saturday at USHS. Schools competing are Kenton, Mohawk, Northmor, Oak Harbor, Pleasant, Port Clinton, Put-in-Bay, River Valley and Upper Sandusky.

Upper Sandusky High School and SportsCare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer athletic physicals for high school and middle school athletes (entering seventh through 12th grades) on May 30. WMH staff and local optometrists will provide physical exams for a $15 donation to the USHS Athletic Department.

Upper Sandusky Little Rams boys summer basketball camp is June 4-6 at Upper Sandusky High School. Coach Jeff Winslow and the boys basketball staff will offer instruction on the fundamentals of basketball for boys entering third through sixth grades from 8:30-11 a.m. each day.

Warrior Athletics North had its first expo April 8. It will hold stunt clinics April 12, 19 and 26 and May 3 for anyone interested in trying out for All-Star cheer for the upcoming season.

RICHWOOD — Upper Sandusky’s girls track and field team won its second straight invitational by topping Jonathan Alder, 129-119, for the title Friday night at the Virg Rankin Invitational at North Union. Upper Sandusky’s boys were fourth with 63 points. Pleasant defeated Jonathan Alder, 127-113, for first place.

MILAN — Alizhah Watson and Lainey Holman led Wynford on Saturday at the Edison Invitational track and field meet. Watson placed in four events, while Holman placed in two with an individual win in the high jump.

The Upper Sandusky junior high boys and girls track and field teams both won a season-opening tri-meet against Buckeye Central and Ridgedale on Tuesday. Sydney Ham led Upper Sandusky’s girls by winning the shot put and the discus, while Harley Brown won the 200 hurdles and the long jump.

Upper Sandusky Lady Rams soccer camp is June 11-14 at the Upper Sandusky High School soccer fields. Students in first through fourth grades will compete from 5-6:30 p.m., while students in fifth through eighth grades will participate from 6:30-8 p.m.

Young Ram football camp for students in first through sixth grades is 3:15-4:45 p.m. May 22-24 at the Union junior high practice football field. Tiffin University coaches and players will teach offensive fundamentals on May 22, Heidelberg University players and coaches will teach defensive fundamentals May 23, and Upper Sandusky football coaches will teach special teams fundamentals May 24.
