BUCYRUS — It was one of the largest single-inning comebacks Wynford baseball coach Jordan Oliver has seen in his two years as coach of the Royals, but they will have to wait for the final result. Trailing Mohawk by five runs entering the bottom of the seventh inning of Wednesday’s contest at Wynford High School, the Royals scored five runs and took advantage of two Mohawk errors to tie the game at 9, but neither team was able to score again.

Buder’s triple sparks Warriors in 5th inning

BUCYRUS — Once Autumn Buder finally came through with a clutch hit, Mohawk’s bats awoke, and it ran away with a 9-1 victory at Wynford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Wednesday. With the game tied at 1 in the fifth inning and runners at second and third with two outs, Buder delivered a two-run triple to the left field fence.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Alec Loveridge singled, stole second and then stole third, scoring when the throw got past the third baseman to give Riverdale a 5-4 victory against Arlington in Blanchard Valley Conference baseball play Wednesday.

Arlington rolls to 24-0 victory

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Arlington struck for nine runs in the first inning and rolled to a 24-0 victory against Riverdale in Blanchard Valley Conference softball play Wednesday. The Red Devils (4-4, 2-2 BVC) scored five mores times in the second inning, four times in the third inning, five times in the fourth inning and once in the fifth inning.

Seneca East slips past Schneider, Upper Sandusky, 2-1

Seneca East scored the first earned run against Arik Schneider this year and stayed undefeated in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball play by edging Upper Sandusky, 2-1, on Wednesday. The Tigers (9-2, 6-0 N10) took the lead with an earned run in the top of the sixth, and after the Rams (6-6, 3-4 N10) tied it in the bottom of the sixth, an unearned run in the seventh won it for Seneca East.

Tigers score 7 in the 7th

The Seneca East softball team scored early and often on the way to a 17-8 victory over Upper Sandusky on Wednesday at Upper Sandusky High School. The Tigers (6-3, 3-3 N10) scored two runs in the first inning, three in the third and fourth, two runs in the sixth and seven in the seventh.

Old Fort knocks off Carey

CAREY — A three-run first inning was all the Old Fort softball team needed to hand the Carey softball team their second loss of the season by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday at Water Works Park. The Blue Devils (7-2) scored one run in the first inning and another in the sixth, but it wasn't enough.

Cooking sessions to begin May 8

A series of four one-hour long programs is being offered by the SNAP-Ed program assistant from the Wyandot County Ohio State University Extension service. Tami Baumberger once again will conduct a series of Cooking with Tami sessions at the Open Door Resources Center in Upper Sandusky.
